Nominations for 2020 ACAPT Elections

We are seeking candidates for the upcoming 2020 ACAPT Board of Directors and consortia leadership elections.

  • Please consider nominating someone or yourself for one of the following positions.
  • All nominations are due by Saturday, February 1, 2020 at midnight.
  • Please send the name, contact information, and the office for which the individual is recommended to the appropriate contacts below.
  • The term of office will begin immediately following the associated Board or Consortia business meeting held during the October 2020 ACAPT Education Leadership Conference (ELC).

Nominating committee member 

To provide a more representative Board, we are reaching out to candidates of diverse race or ethnicity as well as candidates from institutions located in middle Atlantic, the Mountain, and the East South Central regions of the country. Remember that only the designated voting representative of the ACAPT Member Institutions are eligible to serve in these positions.

Below, please find information about each of the open positions.

President:  The President shall be the spokesperson for ACAPT and be responsible for relations with groups or individuals external to ACAPT, within or outside of the Association. The president is a voting member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and serves a 3-year term.

Treasure: The Treasurer is responsible for the ACAPT budget and financial records/reports.  The treasurer is the Chair of the Finance Committee of ACAPT, is a voting member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and serves a 3-year term. 

Director: The Directors provide the ultimate direction for carrying out the mission and management of the affairs of the organization. The Board is responsible for policymaking.  Directors serve a 3-year term.

Nominating Committee Member: The Nominating Committee members recruit candidates for open positions, obtain candidate statements and bios, verify each candidate's eligibility, and evaluate all nominees to identify those best-qualified candidates that most closely meet the criteria for each vacant positions. Nominating committee members shall serve a 3-year term.

All nominees must be members of the associated consortia below.  You can use the links below to join the appropriate consortia as needed.

The National Consortium of Clinical Education (NCCE)  has the following open positions: Vice-Chair (1): Two-year term, 2020-2022; Secretary (1): Two-year term, 2020-2022; Nominating Committee (1): Three-year term 2020-2023; Academic Director-at-Large (ADAL) OR Clinical Director-at-Large (5): Two-year term 2020-2022 (2 ADAL and 2 CDAL, and one either academic or clinical, depending on vote count).  See the "Leadership" tab on the NCCE page for details.  You can submit  nominations to MarciaKHimes@MissouriState.edu.

The National Interprofessional Education Consortium (NIPEC) is accepting nominations for: Vice Chair, Nominating Committee and 3 Director-at-Large positions.  Click here for details about the call for candidates and position responsibilities.  You can send nominations to brandy.schwarz@unthsc.edu.

The Clinical Reasoning Curricula and Assessment Consortium (CRCAC) has three positions open for the 2020 Election:  Secretary, Chairperson and Nominating Committee Member.  Please see the "Leadership" tab on the CRCAC web page for details.  You can send nominations to canbek@nova.edu.

Early Assurance BS/DPT Consortium (EAC) invites nominations for service in the following positions: Chair: Three-year term, Nominating Committee: Two-year term and Nominating Committee: Three-year term. The EAC represents the faculty and admissions coordinators from DPT programs that are currently listed as “Freshman Entry” in the CAPTE directory of programs, thus nominees are required to be faculty at one of these programs. See details about the open positions in the "Leadership" tab here and you can send nominations to kimferreira@andrews.edu.

The Education and Pedagogy Consortium is pleased to announce the call for candidates for the following positions: Secretary and two Nominating Committee Members.  Click here for details about the call for candidates and position responsibilities.  You can send nominations to sdrake@astate.edu.

The Consortium for the Humanities, Ethics, and Professionalism (CHEP) is seeking nominations for a Nominating Committee member. This is a 3-year term leadership position, in which the elected individual will serve as the Chair of the Nominating Committee during his/her third and final year.  Check out the details under the "Leadership" tab here.
